02What a tantra massage is

A tantra massage is a slow whole-body massage with warm oil, drawn from Western neo-tantra. Most studios include the intimate area. The word is not protected, so two studios can sell very different sessions under the same name.

The German professional association for tantra massage (Tantramassage-Verband) sets a standard its members follow: a talk first to agree the limits, fixed roles (one person gives, the guest receives), and no intercourse. It does not admit studios whose intimate-area sessions last under an hour.

03How a session runs

• A short talk: what you want, what you do not want, any health points.
• A shower. Most studios also give you time to shower at the end.
• The massage itself, on a mattress or futon, with oil, slow strokes and breathing.
• A short closing talk.
• Serious studios plan at least 90 minutes; 120 minutes is common.

04Prices by studio

Prices in Swiss francs, as each studio publishes them. ^{† (one source checked)} means one source only: every figure here comes from the studio's own site. – means the studio publishes no price for that length.

For 120 minutes the range runs from CHF 401^{† (one source checked)} at about hands to CHF 530^{† (one source checked)} for Andana's Nuru gel version. Goldenhearts and Dakini also sell 150 and 180 minutes.

05Booking

• All six studios work by appointment. Most take bookings online, by phone or by message.
• Bookings are binding. Amrita Tantra and Dakini charge a cancellation less than 24 hours before the start.
• Dakini prefers cash and also takes Twint or a card. Ask the other studios when you book.
• Some studios also visit homes and hotels. Those prices are not in the table.

06How to tell a real studio from a front

• A real studio publishes a fixed address or district, a price per length and a cancellation rule.
• It names who runs it. Dakini, for example, is run by a company in the federal business register.
• It has its own rooms with a shower, and it starts with a talk about limits.
• A menu that adds sexual services to a tantra item sells something else under the same word.
• Leave if a worker seems not free: no own ID, lives at the workplace, is watched or moved between places often. These are signs on the federal police list for human trafficking.

07Is tantra massage legal in Zurich?

The City of Zurich's ordinance on the sex trade (PGVO, Art. 2) defines prostitution as a service in which a sexual act is offered or done for payment. Under Art. 11, premises used for it need a licence from the city police, except a small studio with at most two rooms and at most one further person working there.

08What this means for you

The name tantra does not decide it; what happens in the session does. A session that includes a sexual act for payment falls under the ordinance, inside the city. Paying an adult for it is legal. Studios in Regensdorf and Thalwil are outside the city ordinance; federal law applies there too.
